Przemysław Czarnek, the minister of education and science, appointed a new Council for the National Program for the Development of Humanities (NPRH). Its chairman became Prof. Grzegorz Kucharczyk, a historian from the Department of 20th Century History at the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences, lecturer at the Academy of Social and Media Culture in Toruń, Academy of Applied Sciences and the Academy of Jakub from Paradyż in Gorzów Wielkopolski.
The 14-person NPRH Council is an advisory team of the minister, consisting of representatives of the humanities community. Its tasks include substantive evaluation of applications for granting financial resources for the implementation of projects submitted under the NPRH; presenting lists of applications for the implementation of the project recommended for funding under individual competitions; nominating candidates for experts participating in the application evaluation process; presenting reports on the course of individual competitions of the program after their completion; identifying the needs of the Polish humanities.
The term of office of the new Council began on May 25, 2022 and will last until April 30, 2025.
