The Opole University of Technology has received almost one million PLN for a project under the Polish Metrology programme and almost the same amount for an increase in subsidies. The symbolic cheques were handed over by the Minister of Education and Science, Przemysław Czarnek.
“The first cheque, for almost one million PLN, is for a project under the Polish Metrology programme and concerns the functional analysis of surfaces in mechanical engineering. The second cheque, also for almost one million PLN, will particularly delight employees of the Opole University of Technology. For all universities under the authority of the Ministry of Education and Science, we have allocated funds for salary increases from 1 October this year, at the start of the new academic year. Next year there will be further, larger amounts,” announces the head of the Ministry of Education.
The Opole University of Technology is one of eight higher education institutions belonging to the Polish Metrology Union, which was established in autumn last year. The union’s activities focus on cooperation with industry and the business environment.
