A modern laboratory for renewable energy sources (RES) has been opened at Opole University of Technology. Worth more than half a million PLN, the laboratory will enable students and scientists to conduct experiments and research in RES technologies.

The new unit includes state-of-the-art workstations that enable experiments and research in renewable energy technologies. They include a stand for configuring and testing an air-to-water heat pump heating system, as well as a stand for testing mechanical ventilation with a recuperation system, which demonstrates solutions for energy efficiency and indoor air quality.

In addition, students and researchers at the Opole university have at their disposal a wind turbine test stand and a photovoltaic installation test stand, which provides practical exercises in working with island photovoltaic installations, key to the development of decentralised energy sources.
