Academic institutions and publishing houses from all over Poland submitted 61 works to this year’s ninth First Rector of the University of Łódź Prof. Tadeusz Kotarbinski Competition for an outstanding scientific work in the humanities, reports the University of Łódź (UŁ) Communication and PR Centre.

In the eight previous and this year’s competition, more than 540 books have been submitted to the Award Chapter for evaluation. 

The First Rector of the University of Łódź Prof. Tadeusz Kotarbiński Prize for an outstanding scientific work in the humanities is a distinction of national rank. The competition promotes research, humanities publications and the humanities themselves. It is the only award of its kind in Poland. During the gala ceremony, the winner receives PLN 50,000 for further scientific development. The Jury’s verdict will be announced on 26 November 2023 at the Łódź Philharmonic.
