National Agency for Academic Exchange completes the first Chair Programm

The Chair Programme (Profesura Gościnna) is a project of the National Agency for Academic Exchange, which enables universities to obtain funds at the invitation of a foreign scientist abroad and to co-finance basic research with the funds of the National Science Center (NCN).

Grants totaling over PLN 10 million were awarded to five universities. Scientists will start their stays at Polish universities in 2021.

Prof. Emilian K. Kavalski from China will implement a project on international relations called “Promoting order in times of turmoil” at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

Prof. Francis Harvey from Germany will lead the project: “Places, People, Events: Innovative research in the field of spatial humanities to support interpretation and explanation” at the University of Warsaw.

Prof. Guillaume Thierry from Great Britain will conduct the project: “Unlocking the power of a foreign language: cognitive foundations of the foreign language effect and strategic use of language” at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań.

Prof. Robert Rollinger from Austria will implement the project: “From Achaemenid to Roman rule: empire in context – ‘long duration’ processes” at the University of Wrocław,.

Prof. Georgiy Kasianov from Ukraine will implement the project: “Searching for the past: Historical politics in United Europe and its surroundings (actors, actions, effects / end of the 1980s – 2020)” at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
