Development of universal tools for the analysis and description of medical images in the diagnosis of respiratory diseases and some cancers, as well as the fight against disinformation and fake news are goals set for entrepreneurs and scientists by the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) under the first competition in the INFOSTRATEG program.

NCBR has announced the first competition for the INFOSTRATEG strategic program, under which in 2020-2029 it will implement projects to support the development of Polish AI potential by developing solutions using artificial intelligence and blockchain in practice.

The budget of the 1st competition under the INFOSTRATEG program is PLN 60 million, which is divided equally into two research parts: 1. Recognition of medical images in the field of respiratory tract (in particular in connection with the dangers of COVID), breast cancer in women, prostate cancer in men; 2. Verifying information sources and detecting fake news.

The call for proposals in the competition will last from January 4 to February 26, 2021.
