National Center for Research and Development offers PLN 5 million for an electric bus

The project of an electric bus with an external, exchangeable energy source received a funding of PLN 5 million from the National Center for Research and Development (NCBR).

The National Center for Research and Development has decided to co-finance a project of a Class I electric bus with rear, external, electric drive system. According to designers, its use will allow rapid exchange of energy storage and eliminate the problem of long-term charging.

The project was created in cooperation with several different research institutions. The consortium includes: Autosan (bus manufacturer) as a leader of the project; the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrotechnics, the Łukasiewicz – Industrial Institute for Automation and Measurements PIAP, Łukasiewicz – Institute of Automotive Industry, Enika company and Warsaw University of Technology.

Financing from the NCBR is allocated under the EU Intelligent Development Operational Program for 2014-2020.
