Dr Wojciech Fendler of the Medical University of Łódź, Prof. Jakub Growiec of the Warsaw School of Economics and Dr Michał Tomza of the University of Warsaw became laureates of the eighth National Science Center (NCN) Award. The scientists will receive financial awards in the amount of PLN 50 thousand.

In the category of life sciences, the award was given to Dr Wojciech Fendler for “significant results in research on microRNA as biomarkers of accidental exposure to ionizing radiation and complications of radiotherapy”.

The laureate in the field of humanities, social sciences and art is Prof. Jakub Growiec. He is the author of advanced research on economic growth, especially the role of technological progress and human capital.

The award in the category of exact and technical sciences was granted to Dr Michał Tomza “for the theoretical description of interactions between ultracold atoms, ions and particles”.
