The National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), in cooperation with the Agency for Medical Research (ABM), has announced a new edition of the Professor Franciszek Walczak Programme. This is an opportunity for scientists and doctors to undertake internships of between 1 and 6 months at the best medical centres around the world.

The aim of the Walczak NAWA Programme is to strengthen the potential of Polish scientific units and medical entities by supporting the international mobility of researchers in medical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences and health sciences. Participants in projects under the Programme have the opportunity to conduct scientific research and work alongside eminent specialists at the best medical centres around the world.

So far, thanks to the commitment of the Ministry of Health, three enrolments have been completed, which have allowed Polish doctors to learn about good research practices and new therapies and procedures in the United States. In the three rounds of the Prof. Franciszek Walczak programme, grants for travel to the best medical centres in the US have been awarded to 57 people for a total of PLN 4,299,000.
