NCN to hold competition for projects on neurodegenerative diseases

The National Science Centre (NCN), in collaboration with the EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) network, is launching a competition for international research projects on neurodegenerative diseases Mechanisms and measurement of disease progression in the early phase of neurodegenerative diseases.

The aim of the competition is to better understand the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases and to increase the possibility of measuring the parameters that determine disease progression in its early and presymptomatic stages. 

Proposals submitted should be based on ambitious, innovative, and multidisciplinary research. They must be hypothesis-driven and should emphasise modern, advanced methodology.

Proposals submitted to JPND Call 2024 should address one or more of the following neurodegenerative diseases: Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease and related conditions, prion diseases, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Huntington’s disease, cerebellar ataxia, spinal muscular atrophy.
