New organization of the Polish Academy of Sciences to search the dark matter

Astrocent is a new research unit at the Nicolaus Copernicus (CAMK) Astronomical Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences. It will be the third CAMK scientific studio. The main research topics will be gravitational waves and the search for dark matter using technologically advanced instruments.

The new unit will be created as part of the International Research Agenda (MAB) program implemented by the Foundation for Polish Science. The Astrocent project has received financing in the amount of over PLN 37 million (for five years) in the second open call in the MAB program.

Astrocent laboratories will be located in the Innovation Management and Technology Transfer Center, in the main campus of the Warsaw University of Technology.
