The construction of the Technical Sciences Center has started at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (UMK). It will include teaching and learning laboratories for research and education in robotics, machine control, vision systems, automation and applied computer science. The investment will cost over PLN 20 million.
Two buildings with a total area of almost 2,000 m2 will house teaching and laboratories, as well as seminar and employees’ rooms. The investment is financed by the university and the Ministry of Education and Science. Construction work should end in the autumn.
“The long-awaited and very important Center of Technical Sciences becomes a fact. The increase in the research and teaching potential in engineering and technical sciences will have a positive impact on the socio-economic environment by increasing the competences of graduates, significant from the point of view of modern economy and industry 4.0”, says the Rector of the Nicolaus Copernicus University, Prof. Andrzej Sokala.
