The Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń was ranked 7th in Poland and 21st in Central and Eastern Europe in this year’s Webometrics ranking. In the global classification, the university occupied the 675th position.

Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (Webometric Ranking of World Universities) is a list which, based on complex indicators, examines the presence of academic and research institutions on the Internet. The ranking is published by Cybermatrics Lab – a research group from the Spanish National Research Council headquartered in Madrid.

The evaluation uses four criteria: Internet presence (5%); visibility on the Internet (50%); citation of scientific stars (10%) and number of the best publications in their disciplines (35%).
