Nicolaus Copernicus University to implement the project “Open UMK – Open Source, Open Science”

10.10.2019

The National Agency for Academic Exchange has granted the University of Nicolaus Copernicus in Toruń funds for the implementation of the project “Open UMK – Open Source, Open Science”.

Open Science means any download, processing and distribution of scientific content using the largest possible number of media. It is the answer to so-called “Replication crisis”, according to which most of the results of scientific publications in the field of natural sciences is impossible to reproduce by independent researchers, as well as by the authors themselves. This problem concerns primarily natural sciences, where an important aspect of scientific work is documenting methodology and collecting partial data.

The project aims to strengthen cooperation with renowned research centers. Open Access publications will be financially supported in high-ranking journals from the ministerial list.
