Office of Competition and Consumer Protection awarded best master’s theses on competition and consumer protection

The 10th competition for the best master’s thesis devoted to consumer protection and the 12th competition for the best master’s thesis devoted to competition protection were completed. Competitions are organized by the President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. The competition’s partners are the Competition Law Association and the Polish Economic Society. 

The submitted works concerned antitrust law, incl. agreements restricting competition, concentration control or forms of state aid, and consumer issues such as: consumer rights, misleading market practices or distance contracts.

The competition jury assessed substantive quality of the work, form, innovative approach to the issue and editorial level.

The winner of the “competition” category is Anna Czuchryta, who defended her thesis “Standard of evidence in European Union competition law” written with Prof. Robert Grzeszczak, University of Warsaw.

In the “consumers” category, Klaudia Koman was awarded for her work “Contracts for the provision of digital content and services and consumer protection in the internal market: Directive 2019/770 and the prospect of its implementation into Polish law”. The thesis was presented under the supervision of Prof. Monika Namysłowska, University of Łódź.
