The official opening of the Study Office for the Polish Diaspora and Poles from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, part of the Polish Studies Academy of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), took place in London.
The main tasks of the new unit – the Office of the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL) for the Polish Diaspora and Poles abroad – include the organisation of residential classes, training courses and postgraduate studies, conferences, symposia, thematic debates, Polish language classes and qualification courses aimed, among others, at Polish school teachers.
This is the second, after Paris, Office of the Studies of the Catholic University of Lublin for the Polish Diaspora and Poles abroad, which is being launched by the Polish Academy of the Catholic University of Lublin, which is responsible for coordinating the Studies.
“The proposal with which we reached out to the Polish diaspora was not only received with great approval, but above all met with great interest. The two courses are attended by more than 550 people from 16 countries, including a very large group of our compatriots from the United Kingdom. It is therefore obvious that such an office is extremely necessary in London”, said the Rector of the Catholic University of Lublin, Rev. Prof. Mirosław Kalinowski.
