A team of employees from the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management at the University of Opole has won funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education under the Science for Society programme to develop a package of solutions to support the development of smart cities.

Researchers from Opole will carry out a project that will enable the formulation of a universal maturity model for City 4.0, supported by technologies known from the Industry 4.0 concept. In addition to tools enabling a comprehensive assessment of the maturity of a specific city in terms of its technological advancement and building a ranking of cities on this basis, the package will also include a roadmap for local authorities. This will make it possible to develop strategic directions for city development, taking into account the needs of local residents.

The project involves close cooperation between higher education and local government entities. Thanks to this, it will be possible to transfer the accumulated knowledge into practice.
