Over 300 sea researchers from all over Poland participated in the 2nd Scientific Conference of Polish Sea Researchers organized by the faculty of oceanography and geography of the University of Gdańsk together with the Sea Research Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

The main goal of the conference was the integration of the environment of Polish sea and ocean researchers representing all aspects of oceanographic research (biology, chemistry, marine physics and geology, issues of marine hydrotechnics, protection of the marine environment and socio-legal aspects.

The conference was also dedicated to representatives of administrations at all levels managing the sustainable development of the marine environment. The participants presented 93 papers were and 112 poster presentations. As part of the event, Young Sea Researchers had panel session, where they fought for the prize of the Chairman of the Sea Research Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
