The University of Zielona Góra has received more than PLN 13 million for the project ‘Centres of Scientific and Technological Excellence at the University of Zielona Góra’. The grant from the Regional Initiative of Excellence (RID) programme will be implemented in four disciplines: automation, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies; mechanical engineering; astronomy; and physical sciences.
The currently inaugurated 1st RID programme was preceded by a pilot round in which funding was awarded to thirty universities implementing development projects in disciplines identified by the Ministry of Education. As part of the pilot round, the Materials Research Engineering Laboratory project was implemented at the University of Zielona Góra.
The aim of the RID programme is to support academic universities which stand out in the regions in the pro-quality development of scientific activity and education in areas of significant importance for the respective regions.
