Beata Merenda, PhD student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering of the Wrocław University of Technology, conducts research on air pollution in areas of health resort protection. As part of the work, she will conduct air quality analysis taking into account the variability of suspended dust concentrations.
During the research, the PhD student will analyze the variability of dust concentrations taking into account the scale of seasonal variability and the composition of suspended dust, including the PM10, PM2.5 fractions (according to WHO, atmospheric pollutants that are the most harmful to health) and PM1 fractions in selected health resorts in combination with topographic and meteorological conditions as well as precisely indicate the sources of pollutant emissions.
The research will be conducted in winter and summer. Additionally, for selected health resorts, the PhD student will conduct statistical analyzes for longer, long-term intervals, using the data provided by the Chief Inspectorate for Environmental Protection.
