The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology received railway traffic control devices from the PKP PLK company. The donated equipment will be used by students of the field of transport, who will learn about with the principles of operation of the rail transport system.
The University of Technology has received an illuminated and shaped semaphore, a maneuvering disc, a switch bolt, a spike bell and a pin lock, as well as an adjustment bench with a dependence box. The equipment is the result of a cooperation agreement signed by the university with PKP PLK, aiming to improve the quality of education in the area of operation of the railway transport system.
– Students unfamiliar with railways find it difficult to imagine in lectures how rail traffic is secured. Thanks to the cooperation with PKP PLK, we will be able to present the principles of operation of the mechanical devices used in this process – says Dr Franciszek Restel from the Department of Technical Systems Operation.
