The Academy of Physical Education in Katowice has received half a million PLN for the ‘Silesian Diamonds’ programme. The aim of the project is to provide precise medical diagnostics for young athletes practising swimming, fencing, athletics, judo, canoeing, biathlon and boxing.
“Silesian Diamonds” is a pilot programme created by the Marshal’s Office of the Silesian Voivodeship. It covers testing and diagnostics primarily for junior and senior juniors up to the age of youth. In practice, they include comprehensive laboratory, orthopaedic, performance, cardiovascular, strength and power tests. They will be carried out by renowned specialists.
The undertaking will be carried out by KS AZS AWF Katowice at the Academy of Physical Education. The university has received PLN 500,000 for this purpose. Thanks to these funds, two hundred athletes will participate in the programme, mainly medallists of the Polish championships in Olympic disciplines, which bring the most medals to the Silesian voivodeship”.
