Poland is chairing the High Council of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence in 2024. According to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the priority of our presidency will be to initiate discussions on expanding the EUI’s partnerships with partners from third countries, establishing new forms of cooperation and ensuring geographical balance in the institute’s activities.

The European University Institute of Florence is an international research and academic institution for the social sciences. It offers prestigious doctoral programmes and research programmes. Currently, 23 countries are members of the EUI including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.

“We hope that the Polish presidency of the EUI High Council will be a period of progress and innovation for the Institute, and for Poland a chance to develop cooperation with European academic institutions and an opportunity to promote Polish scientific activity abroad”, said Deputy Minister of Science Andrzej Szeptycki.
