The “Poland 2000 Plus” Forecast Committee at the Presidium of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) has published a monograph “Climate change – effects on Polish society and economy”, which contains 14 scientific articles presenting the impact of environmental changes on the quality of human life, regions and the state.

The articles in the book are divided into two chapters: climate and environment, and the relationship between climate change and man.

The impact of climate change on humans is very strong. The concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere is increasing, and the effects of this process are already visible to the naked eye. Unfortunately, these changes are mostly unfavorable. At the same time, large inertia of climate processes is noticeable, which means that even if the increase in greenhouse gas concentration in the atmosphere is halted, the Earth’s temperature will continue to rise – emphasized Prof. Konrad Prandecki and Prof. Małgorzata Burchard-Dziubińska, who edited a scientific publication.
