Polish Academy of Sciences receive applications for the PASIFIC scholarship competition

348 scientists of 60 nationalities applied for the first PASIFIC scholarship competition organized by the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). 

The Polish Academy of Sciences emphasized that among applicants were 106 women and 242 men. The largest number of applications, (147) concerns ​Engineering and Technical sciences, 109 – Social sciences and Humanities, and 92 – Life sciences.

The most popular among the institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences is the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology with 27 researchers. The Institute of Physical Chemistry was chosen by 22 people, the Institute of Plant Physiology – 14 people, and the Mineral and Energy Economy Research Institute and the Tadeusz Manteuffel Institute of History- 13 people each.

The first PASIFIC competition will select 35 best scientists who will come to Poland between January and March 2022. The results will be announced in the next six months.
