The General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) selected 68 new actual and correspondent members of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Newly elected persons will become members from January 1, 2022. Real or correspondent membership is a lifetime.
The Polish Academy of Sciences reports, that the members of the Academy are selected by the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences among the scientists who stand out with special scientific achievements and have a flawless reputation.
The Academy consists of Polish (real and correspondent) and foreign members. The total number of members may not exceed 350. The national members participate in the work of the General Assembly of the Polish Academy of Sciences within faculty, branch, scientific and problem committees. They submit an annual report on the activities to the vice president of the academy who supervises the work of a given department.
The General Assembly selected 18 new members of the Academy of Young Scientists of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
