How does global warming change the Arctic? How fast can glaciers move? And what does Christmas look like at home at the North Pole? All questions can be answered through online lectures organized by the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).
The Polar University has been just started under the Edu-Arctic project. The first online lecture took place on November 26. The Vice president of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Paweł Rowiński talked about climate changes.
In December, two more lectures on the Christmas will be delivered. In order to participate one can click edu-arctic.pl and take part in the selected lecture. Live connections with Polish polar stations are also planned.
December 6 (Friday) at 10.00 and 16.00 students can listen to the lecture “The whole truth about the magic of reindeer”, and on December 17 and 18 “Holidays of the polar explorers” by Joanna Perchaluk-Mandat from the Polish Polar Station “Hornsund” on Spitsbergen.
