Polish and Slovak scientists found that the radiation of cell phones attracts ticks

Polish and Slovak scientists have found that ticks, especially those that carry dangerous pathogens, are attracted by electromagnetic radiation at a frequency of 900 MHz emitted through cell phones.

Research by scientists from the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, Universities – Szczecin and Zielona Góra – as well as the Safarik University, Technical University and Veterinary University of Kosice proved that the electromagnetic field attracts ticks. Interestingly, ticks infected with Borrelia and Rickettsia are more likely to move towards EMF radiation.

It is probably related to the magnetic sense of the ticks – the sixth sense common in the animal world, which has evolved in response to the earth’s forces of the geomagnetic field. Artificial electromagnetic radiation can disturb this sense and increase tick mobility.
