Dr Agnieszka Gajewicz from the University of Gdańsk, holder of the scholarship L’Oréal Poland Program “For Women and Science”, was awarded the International Rising Talents.
The Polish woman was included in the group of 15 women from different countries who, thanks to their research, have a chance to change the world. Dr Gajewicz is the third Polish woman in the history of the competition, who was awarded this distinction. She was appreciated for research on chemical risk assessment of various types of substances. A researcher from the University of Gdańsk recently deals with the development of chemoinformatic methods in science. Chemoinformatics is a relatively new field of science at the intersection of computer science, mathematics, chemistry and theoretical physics and chemometrics.
International Rising Talents is a competition for emerging world science talents organized by the L’Oréal Foundation and UNESCO. The official award ceremony will take place during the final gala on March 21 in Paris.
