The Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has launched the Polish Language Promotion Program. Co-financing of a total amount PLN 1.2 million from NAWA for the promotion of the Polish language, history and Polish culture abroad will be offered to 15 projects.
The universities and institutes that will implement the projects include: Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, University of Białystok, University of Warsaw, University of Silesia in Katowice, Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Jan Długosz University of Humanities and Life Sciences in Częstochowa, Akademia Ignatianum in Kraków, University of Rzeszów, Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
The aim of the Polish Language Promotion program is to promote the Polish language in the world, as well as to disseminate knowledge about the history and culture of Poland to a wide range of foreigners. The awarded projects will contribute to the improvement of the quality of teaching Polish as a foreign language, strengthen its prestige, and will also contribute to building a good image of Poland in the world – said Dr Grażyna Żebrowska, NAWA director.
