Scientists from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the Lodz University of Technology together with researchers from the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Dytrych Pure Home company have created a project called vertical gardens which are green walls that purify the air and enrich the surroundings, pro-environmentally and aesthetically.
Vertical gardens may clean the air from harmful substances: dust and volatile organic compounds. They may enrich the air with oxygen, regulate air humidity, lower the temperature and even reduce the noise. Living in their vicinity is healthier and people can relax much easier – explains Prof. Justyna Polit from the Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection, University of Lodz.
The University of Lodz and the other authors of the project are already conducting talks with the first partners who are interested in creating vertical gardens. Soon, more constructions may also appear at the University itself.
