Polish scientists  join a consortium developing a dietary supplement that limits the effects of viruses

29.08.2020

An international consortium with the participation of the Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) in Olsztyn is working on a natural dietary supplement that reduces the effects of viruses and strengthens immunity.

The supplement will contain spermidine and eugenol. These are substances with potential antiviral properties.

Eugenol has the ability to inactivate the animal coronavirus. It limits the multiplication of viruses in the cells of the infected host. In turn, spermidine has a proven positive effect on the cardiovascular system. Its consumption is associated with lower blood pressure. It also has a positive effect on the immune system.

The product is to be available on the European market at the beginning of 2021.
