Polish Society for Irish Research established with headquarters in Katowice

The Polish Association for Irish Studies (PAIS) was established at the Irish Embassy in Warsaw. Thanks to the support of the University of Silesia, Katowice has been designated as the seat of the organization.

The association brings together Irish studies researchers from many universities and cultural, educational and educational institutions. Soon the registration process will end and then PAIS wants to inaugurate its activity in Upper Silesia.

Dr Leszek Drong employee of the Institute of Literary Sciences of the Faculty of Humanities at the Katowice University was elected the president of the association., The PAIS board includes also: Dr Katarzyna Bazarnik from the Jagiellonian University, Dr Michał Lachman from the University of Lodz, Dr Joanna Jarząb-Napierała from the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań and Dr Paweł Hamera from the Pedagogical University of Krakow.
