Polish universities join the GreenMetric ranking

The Gdańsk University of Technology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów, University of Gdańsk, Krakow University of Technology, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn, Academy of Special Education in Warsaw, University of Wrocław and the Cardinal S. Wyszyński University in Warsaw are Polish schools universities, which ranked as the best 770 universities in the world in terms of care for the natural environment in the GreenMetric ranking prepared by the University of Indonesia. 

The ranking evaluates 6 criteria: environment and infrastructure; energy and climate change; waste treatment programs; reducing groundwater consumption, increasing nature conservation and habitat protection programs; transport policy to reduce the number of private vehicles; education and research. In total, the ranking consists of 39 detailed indicators.

The leaders of the ranking are: Wageningen University in the Netherlands, the University of Nottingham in Great Britain and Groningen University also in the Netherlands. The Gdańsk University of Technology was ranked the highest among Polish universities, in 134th place.
