-As part of the initiatives for environmental protection undertaken in Europe, we are launching the SILVANUS project, which will help intensify actions to prevent fire and make forests resistant to harmful climate changes – said Dr Eng. Wojciech Mazurczyk from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology, the Warsaw University of Technology (PW) leading a team of Polish scientists in the project.
49 international partners are involved in the project including institutions, universities, research centers and commercial companies and Main School of Fire Service in Warsaw.
-Together, we will build a system that will allow not only to effectively manage firefighting operations on a global scale, but we will take the risk of fires more predictable, which will help in rescue operations – emphasizes Prof. Mazurczyk.
The SILVANUS project is implemented under the European Union’s Horizon 2020 program.
