Polish universities ranked high in QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings 2021

Two Polish universities reach the top ten of the recently published QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings 2021. The Jagiellonian University in Kraków was ranked 6th and the University of Warsaw (UW) was ranked 7th.

The ranking included 400 universities of Eastern and Central Europe and Central Asia. The leader of the region, as in previous years, is the oldest Russian university – the University of M. Lomonosov in Moscow. The list includes 25 Polish universities. Apart from the Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw, the highest ranked Polish universities include: Warsaw University of Technology (12), Wrocław University of Technology (46) and AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (49).

Regional Rankings Emerging Europe and Central Asia has been published since 2014 as part of QS World University Rankings. Ten indicators are used to conduct the analysis, including: evaluation of academic staff, employers’ reputation, the ratio of the number of employees to the number of students, the level of internationalization, the number of employees with a doctoral degree, publications and citations, or participation in international research teams.
