Polish universities ranked in the latest Best Global Universities Rankings

Jagiellonian University in Krakow (339th in the world), the University of Warsaw (345th) and the Warsaw University of Technology (732nd) were ranked highest among Polish universities in the latest Best Global Universities Rankings, a worldwide list prepared by U.S. News & World Report. First place was taken by Harvard University from the USA.

This year’s ranking included 2165 universities from all over the world, including 46 from Poland. In addition to those mentioned earlier, the next highest places in the ranking were occupied by the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków (782), the University of Zielona Góra (801) and the Wroclaw Medical University (835).

The Best Global Universities ranking was based on 13 criteria, including academic reputation, publications and citations or internationalisation. The ranking is one of the leading global rankings, the so-called Big-4 group, which is furthermore made up of the Shanghai Ranking – Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), Times Higher Education – World University Rankings (THE), QS World University Rankings (Quacquarelli Symonds – QS).
