Pomeranian University in Slupsk to launch modern educational and cultural center

The Pomeranian Academy in Słupsk received funding for the reconstruction of the historic building after the former military canteen. After renovation, the building will be used by students as a lecture hall, and by the whole city – for concerts and other events.

Abandoned and unused for almost twenty years, the building after reconstruction will be a modern didactic and representative base with a multifunctional conference room. It will serve not only universities, but also residents of the entire city and region. Works will begin this year and will last two years. The facility will be adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

The building is part of historic barracks, the reconstruction will be carried out preserving its historical shape. The total investment cost is over PLN 12 million, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education has donated PLN 10 million for this purpose. The university’s own contribution amounted to over PLN 2.5 million.
