The Skyeye team of students from Universidad Politécnica Madrid, Universidad Pablo Olavide and AeroLab UAV Research Group of Poznan University of Technology took the 3rd place in the Grand Challenge of the Mohamed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge.
The aim of the competition is to demonstrate the current state of robotics in terms of scientific and technological achievements and to inspire the future of this field of science. 120 teams competed in this year’s international competition, of which 32 reached the finals.
The AeroLab UAV research group at Poznan University of Technology focused mainly on implementing control algorithms for multi-rotor unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as on creating software that enabled fast tuning of controllers to achieve optimal performance using on-line optimization methods at low calculation costs.
