Researchers at Poznań University of Technology will carry out a project ‘Behaviour of materials and structures in response to dynamic actions in a fire’. For their research, carried out in collaboration with the Czech Technical University in Prague, they have won funding in the Opus 24 +LAP competition organised by the National Science Centre.
The grant is the fruit of long-standing cooperation between the two universities, most recently through a joint project to promote advanced fire engineering methods. In the planned project, the Poznań university is going a step further, seeking to combine the knowledge and experience of both units in the impact of rapid processes (such as explosions) and fire temperatures on building materials and structures.
The grant amount is more than £1,130,000 and the project will last 36 months. A total of 11 research teams from Poland have received funding for joint research projects in cooperation with Czech units”.
