August 1, 2018, the President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, signed the Law on Higher Education and Science and its introductory provisions. This is a comprehensive reform of higher education. It assumes major changes in the operation of the university, their financing and scientific careers.
The Constitution for Science will replace the four existing laws that regulate the area of higher education and science: law on higher education, the law on the principles of financing science, the law on degrees and academic title, and the law on student loans.
The act will come into force on October 1, 2018.
