Prof. Andrzej Chwalba receives an honorary doctorate

On May 11, 2021, during the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Pedagogical University in Krakow, Prof. Andrzej Chwalba, a historian from the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University was honoured for outstanding scientific, organizational and teaching achievements as well as close cooperation with the Pedagogical University.

Prof. Andrzej Chwalba has been worked for the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University in his professional career. He was the deputy director of the Institute, dean of the Faculty of History (1996–1999), vice-rector for didactics (1999–2005). He founded the Department of Historical Anthropology and is its head, co-created the anthropological specialization program and educated many generations of historians.

He is also the vice-president of the Polish Historical Society, as well as a member of the Foundation for Helping Visually Impaired and Blind Children, the international Program Collegium of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk and the Organizing Committee of the 23rd International Congress of Historical Sciences in Poznań.
