Prof. Ewa Pałasz-Rutkowska receives Japanese Foundation Award

Professor Ewa Pałasz-Rutkowska from the Department of Japanese Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the University of Warsaw (UW) received the Japan Foundation Award for her contribution to the development of mutual relations between Poland and Japan. The award ceremony took place on November 7 in Tokyo.

Professor Ewa Pałasz-Rutkowska is one of the leading Polish specialists in the field of Japanese history and culture, as well as mutual relations between this country and Poland. In her research, she focuses on issues of imperial house history or intercultural relations.

Every year, the Foundation distinguishes people and organizations that promote friendly relations between individual states and Japan through its scientific, artistic or other activities related to Japanese culture. This year, winners were honored with the awards for the 47th time. The Japanese prize was also given to the poet Shuntaro Tanikawa and the Association of Indonesian Alumni From Japan (PERSADA).
