Prof. Jacek Klinowski, an outstanding chemist from the University of Cambridge, will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Warsaw (UW) on December 8, 2021.
Prof. Jacek Klinowski is considered to be one of the pioneers of the application of the method of studying zeolite catalysts using nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy with rotation under the so-called “Magic angle” (MAS NMR). It is a method that has found widespread use in the study of solids.
He is also the author of 502 scientific papers. Most of them appeared in prestigious magazines, incl. “Nature”, “Science” or “Lancet”. Their significant impact on the scientific community is evidenced by the number of over 20,000. citations.
For 27 years he has been a foreign member of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, an honorary member of the Polish Chemical Society and the Polish Zeolite Society. As a professor at the University of Cambridge, he lectured in NMR spectroscopy at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow and the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań.
