Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk becomes a member of the European Academy of Sciences

Prof. Janusz Kacprzyk of the Systems Research Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) has been elected a member of the European Academy of Sciences (EURASC).

Based in Brussels, EURASC brings together around 600 of the most outstanding scientists and engineers involved in the development of advanced technologies. EURASC is an international, independent association with the aim of promoting basic research and excellence in science and technology.

Janusz Kacprzyk is a professor of computer science and head of the Laboratory of Intelligent Systems of the Institute of Systems Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He specializes in artificial intelligence tools such as fuzzy sets and the application of fuzzy logic in databases, decision support systems, control and decision making in conditions of uncertainty and lack of precision, fuzzy methods of information representation and processing, evolutionary programming and neural networks.
