Prof. Kołodko to present his newest book “Will China save the world?”

07.05.2018

On 15 May, the latest book of Prof. Grzegorz Kołodko “Will China save the world?” will be presented. Professor Grzegorz Kołodko is the most quoted Polish economist in the world. He was the deputy prime minister of the Polish government and the minister of finance four times. Currently, he is the director of the TIGER Transformation, Integration and Globalization Research Center at the Leon Koźmiński Academy in Warsaw.

The latest study by Prof. Kołodko is a comprehensive documentation of China’s economic achievements. These considerations, however, are just the background for trying to answer whether China’s economic successes can help solve global problems.

Prof. Maciej Bałtowski from the Maria Curie Skłodowska University wrote in his review: “This extremely important and interesting study addresses the key issues (…) and the future of the world. The understanding of the Chinese phenomenon – the causes, conditions and effects of an extraordinary civilizational leap – is superficial in the West, also in Poland. The author successfully overcomes this limitation and the book goes far beyond the standard study of the Chinese economy.”
