Professor Krzysztof Konecki of the University of Lodz was elected as the chairman of the Polish Sociological Society (PTS) for the next term (until 2023).

In his inauguration speech, Prof. Konecki emphasized that he will act for the benefit of the sociological community, by continuing the PTS policy, but also he will speak out in public matters.

-We will always support human dignity, regardless of religion, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Our statements and decisions on behalf of PTS, made by the Main Board, are based on empathy and understanding. We are representing civil society as an organization; we are part of it and we will support human dignity as long as we can – added Prof. Konecki.

PTS is a scientific and professional organization of Polish sociologists, aiming to support the development of sociology, disseminate sociological knowledge, shape the professional ethics of sociologists and represent the interests of the members of the Society in the field of their scientific and professional activities.
