Prof. Mateusz Hołda from the Faculty of Medicine at the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum (UJ CM) in Krakow, the first Polish scientist to be awarded the title of professor before the age of 30, won the jubilee competition Supertalents in Medicine 2023 organised by “Puls Medycyny”.
Scientists under the age of 40 from academic centres across Poland competed in the tenth competition. The jury, made up of eminent specialists in various fields of medicine, assessed the candidates in 3 categories: scientific achievements, involvement in activities in the public space, and prospects for further development and opportunities for influence in Polish medicine and healthcare in the coming years.
Prof. Hołda works with the Department of Anatomy at the Jagiellonian University CM, where he founded the international HEART scientific team in 2013. He deals with the architecture of the human cardiovascular system on each of its levels – from molecular, microscopic and macroscopic to imaging studies.
