Professor Monika Hardygóra, dean of the geoengineering, mining and geology faculty of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology received the title “Personality of the Year” in the competition of the Mining Chamber of Commerce and Industry. She was appreciated for the overall activity of particular importance for Polish mining in the area of didactics, science and cooperation between science and industry.
Professor Hardygóra is the author or co-author of two books, 92 articles, 142 conference papers, 6 patents and over 200 research works on the mining industry. She is a member of the scientific council of the Institute of Mineral Resources and Energy Economy of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Central Mining Institute.
The competition has been organized by the Mining Chamber of Industry and Commerce for 10 years. Its aim is to promote and popularize projects for innovation and the development of Polish underground mining, personalities of special importance and pro-ecological activities.
