Professor Kaja Gadowska becomes the vice president of the European Sociological Association

Dr Kaja Gadowska, Prof. of the Jagiellonian University (UJ) in Krakow of the Institute of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University became the vice president of the European Sociological Association (ESA) for the years 2019-2021. Prof. Marta Soler-Gallart from the University of Barcelona was elected the president of this organization.

ESA has over 2,800 members. The society supports scientific and didactic initiatives. It is also a platform for the exchange of experience between sociologists and researchers from other fields of knowledge.

Dr Kaja Gadowska is the head of the Department of Sociology of the Jagiellonian University. The main area of her research interest is the problems of public sphere dysfunction, including the restructuring of hard coal mining in Poland.
